The Blue Dive PADI Divemaster course Port Douglas will help turn your passion into your job. Enrolment is the first step in creating the opportunity to work as a scuba professional. On successful completion you will be a PADI divemaster and a member of PADI, the world’s largest and most respected diver training organization. You’ll be privately taught by one of our dive instructors, who will work closely with you to expand your dive knowledge and increase your skills to the professional level. You’ll complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training to stretch your ability to organise and solve problems, as well as help others to improve their diving. You put this knowledge into action through a structured internship, or series of practical training exercises. To be eligible you must already have a PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organisation). During our Port Douglas PADI divemaster course, you’ll learn dive leadership skills and enhance your understanding of the underwater world. On its successful completion, you’ll be authorized to guide certified divers and supervise both training and non-training-related activities by planning, organising and directing dives. In addition, you will be able to assist a PADI instructor during the training sessions for any PADI diver course. To participate in this course you must be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months to Australian standards. Excellent local doctors can issue this. To complete the course, you will have passed all the skill test requirements and have at least 60 logged dives for certification. Completing the eLearning in advance, saves you plenty of time when it comes to completing the course requirements.
To participate in the Blue Dive PADI divemaster course Port Douglas, it’s a requirement that you have an existing PADI rescue diver certificate (or qualifying certification from another training organisation), as well as an emergency first response primary and secondary care course completion in the past 24 months and have at least 40 certified dives. The minimum age is 18 years old. There are medical requirements for those wanting to scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef. By law you will need to complete a Queensland Government Medical Declaration confirming good health. Please note that certain conditions, including asthma and heart problems, may preclude you from scuba diving. Please see our medical page for further information.
