PRIVATELY GUIDED INTRO DIVING PORT DOUGLAS

BLUE DIVE PROVIDES LUXURY INTRO DIVING PORT DOUGLAS, IN A TROPICAL RESORT POOL. BLOW BUBBLES AND LEARN NEW SKILLS, IN SAFETY AND WITH FUN.

We can’t wait to share the excitement of scuba diving with you. Our intro diving Port Douglas sessions are conducted in a tropical resort swimming pool (or on the reef), where you can learn the basics and breathe underwater for the first time. This is perfect for those wanting to try scuba, but are nervous about going straight into the sea. Training and guidance is provided by experienced PADI dive instructors and equipment hire is included, as is a session on basic diving theory and underwater communication signals. Our intro diving Port Douglas courses in a pool last around 2 hours and are a great holiday experience. Please note you must be a minimum of 12 years of age to participate and medically fit and well. There are some medical conditions which may preclude you from scuba diving – including intro diving – such as asthma and pregnancy (more on this below). We require a minimum of 2 guests to run our intro diving Port Douglas sessions and the cost is $275 per person. Once completed, you may choose to extend your scuba diving experience to include an introductory dive on the Great Barrier Reef or a learn to dive course. Blue Dive can assist with these too.

Intro Diving Port Douglas

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS – HEALTH, DIVING AND FLYING FOR INTRODUCTORY DIVERS

Please note various health conditions, including asthma, fainting episodes, heart and lung problems and some other medical conditions – including pregnancy – will prevent you from scuba diving. Anyone wanting to participate in an intro dive must be in good medical health and is required to complete the PADI Discover Scuba Diving medical questionnaire and sign a form confirming their good health, on the day of session.

To avoid the disappointment of not being able to take an introductory dive when here, you must be able to answer ‘NO’ to the following medical questions.

  1. Are you currently suffering from any illness or injury that may be incompatible with diving?
  2. Have you ever had any medical condition that may affect your heart, ears or lungs (e.g. heart disease, sinus/ear operations or asthma)?
  3. Have you used any type of oral inhaler or medication to relieve breathing difficult, airway issues or allergy symptoms within the last 10 years?
  4. Have you ever had any medical condition that may result in loss of consciousness (eg. epilepsy or diabetes) or have you previously fainted?
  5. Are you currently taking any medication (excluding oral contraceptive)?
  6. Do you have high blood pressure?
  7. Have you had any injury or operation within the last 6 weeks?
  8. Are you pregnant? If you are pregnant, you should not dive for your safety.

If you answered ‘Yes’ to any of the above questions, you Must bring a “Clearance to Dive” which states the condition(s) and is signed by your doctor, dated within the last 12 months. If you require medical clearance to dive please download the PADI Medical Statement and have it completed by a doctor. Please contact us prior to seeing your doctor, so we can advise on any additional information we may require.

Please Note: The current safety regulations require an 18-hour surface interval between diving and flying. All diving would be completed by 2.30pm, so any flights could be booked for departure after 8.30am on the following day. For more information please visit our medical page.
